Privacy Policy
How Electron Flight LLC handles your information when you visit electronflight.com, send us a message or buy from us. Plain English, no surprises.
We collect little
Only what you send us through the contact form, what's needed to fill your order, and basic technical data from your browser.
We never sell it
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the services that run our store, ads and website.
You choose on ads cookies
In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, advertising cookies stay off unless you accept them. You can change your mind at any time.
1. Who we are
This website is run by Electron Flight LLC, Red Lion, Pennsylvania 17356, USA ("Electron Flight", "we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy (under the GDPR and UK GDPR we are the "controller").
Questions or requests about your data: email info@electronflight.com.
2. What we collect
Messages you send us
When you use our contact form we receive your name, email address and message. The form sends them to our email inbox so we can reply.
Orders
Our store runs on Shopify. When you buy, Shopify's checkout collects your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give it, and the items you order, and Shopify and its payment processors handle your payment. We receive the order details we need to fill and support your order. We don't receive or store your full card number.
Shipping
To deliver your order we share your name, shipping address and, where needed, your contact details with shipping carriers and logistics providers. International orders also need the customs details that carriers require.
Advertising cookies and conversion measurement
Every page loads the Google Ads tag. With your consent (or by default outside Europe, see Cookies), it uses cookies and similar identifiers to tell us whether our ads lead to visits and purchases, and lets Google use that information for advertising. The tag also links visits between our site and our Shopify store so a purchase can be matched to the ad that led to it.
Visit statistics
We use Umami, a cookieless analytics service, to count page views and see which pages are popular. It doesn't set cookies, and we use it only for overall site statistics.
Server logs
Like most websites, our web server (hosted by HostGator) automatically records technical data for each request: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working.
3. Why we use it (and legal bases)
For visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland, the GDPR and UK GDPR require us to have a legal basis for each use:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Processing, shipping and supporting your order, including returns | Performance of a contract with you |
| Answering your messages and questions | Our legitimate interest in responding to you, or steps you ask for before buying (contract) |
| Keeping the website secure and working (server logs) and counting visits | Our legitimate interest in running a safe, reliable website |
| Google Ads cookies for ad measurement and advertising | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Keeping order and tax records | Compliance with our legal obligations |
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the business:
- Shopify: our online store, Buy Button, checkout and payment processing (Shopify Privacy Policy).
- Google: the Google Ads tag and conversion measurement (Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services).
- Shipping carriers and logistics providers: to deliver your order.
- HostGator: hosts this website and its server logs.
- Umami: cookieless visit statistics.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
5. Cookies and your choices
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar tools, like your browser's local storage, work the same way. We use two kinds:
| Type | What it does | Can you turn it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | The Shopify Buy Button on our product pages, which loads from Shopify and may store data in your browser to keep your cart and complete checkout. Also your cookie choice itself, saved in your browser's local storage (not a cookie). | No. The store can't work without them, so we don't ask first. |
| Advertising | Google Ads cookies that measure whether our ads lead to visits and sales, and that Google may use for advertising. | Yes. See below. |
Visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland
Advertising cookies are off by default. We show a banner where you can Accept or Reject them. If you reject or don't choose, Google Ads runs in a limited, cookieless mode. Your choice stays in your browser until you clear it or change it.
Visitors elsewhere
Advertising cookies are on by default. You can still turn them off with the button below, through your browser settings, or with Google's ad settings.
Change your choice
Use this button at any time to reopen the cookie banner and accept or reject advertising cookies:
Do Not Track: there's no agreed standard for browser "Do Not Track" signals, so our site doesn't respond to them. Use the choices above instead.
6. International transfers
Electron Flight is based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. If you're outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, where data protection laws may differ from yours. Where the law requires, our providers use recognized safeguards for these transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, as described in their own privacy policies.
7. How long we keep it
- Messages: as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of our conversation, then deleted.
- Orders: as long as needed to fill and support your order and to meet tax, accounting and other legal requirements.
- Server logs: kept by our host for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.
- Your cookie choice: stored in your browser until you clear it or change it.
- Google Ads cookies: kept for the periods set by Google, as described in Google's policies.
8. Your rights
EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct inaccurate data;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including uses based on our legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time (for cookies, use the Cookie settings button), without affecting what we did before you withdrew;
- complain to a supervisory authority, such as the data protection authority where you live or work. In the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
California and other US states
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale. We don't sell personal information. We won't treat you differently for using your privacy rights.
How to make a request
Email info@electronflight.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we'll reply within the time the law requires.
9. Children
Our website isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child under 13 has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version on this page and change the effective date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll make them clear on this page.
